The Tempe Recreation Reserve will become home to a new pop-up, outdoor music venue, The Village Green, at the start of 2022.
Responding to the ever-changing and always confusing NSW COVID restrictions, live music production company Architects Of Entertainment are setting up The Village Green, a pop-up outdoor music venue with crowd capacity capabilities indoor venues are still restricted by.
Taking residence in the Inner West parkland, The Village Green will host an unannounced line-up of local artists from Friday, January 21, to Sunday, February 27 2022.
“The city is more than ready for a return to live music and we’ve got the perfect spot for it,” says venue co-owners Nathaniel Holmes and Haydn Johnston.
The past couple of years have been hell for the live music and events industries, and indoor venues are still suffering from capacity restrictions.
The Village Green is the perfect response, providing the first of it’s kind space to the local scene, with the capacity of 2,800 people, and the luxury of more laxed restrictions as an outdoor venue.
“We now have a completely unique parcel of land, for six weeks, during the best part of summer, fully licensed, and ready for outdoor live music and dancing – it’s a dream come true,” express Holmes and Johnston.
An outdoor gig surrounded by lush, unabashed greenery, set right on the edge of Cook’s River? We’re listening…
Ahhh, to be a little sim person dancing (if we want to call it that) amongst a circle of fig trees on a clement summers day – not a care in the world.
Just 20 mins from the CBD, the venue will be easily accessible by public transport, and there will also be a ride-share drop off location just 300m from the entrance. Among a stage filled with yet-to-be-announced local artists, the atmospherically green field will have food, bevvies, merch stands, and full amenities.
The Village Green’s line-up will be announced in early December – we’re eager to hear what they have in store for us.
