Thom Yorke teams with Sonos for new curated radio program

Sonos speaker company have launched their first ever online radio service presented by none other than Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke.

The free streaming service will feature a station titled In the Absence there of… which is an exclusive insight into the legendary rock-star’s favourite tunes available to listen to right now. The audio giants are the latest brand to introduce new media in a bid to “stop the walls from closing in to quick” for all those living out the dystopian reality of self-isolation.

Speaker giants, Sonos, have launched a new self-isolation radio platform featuring a station created by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke.

Yorke has poetically described his plans for his personally curated “ever rolling compilation” to be compiled of music “that fascinates or moves me, what obsesses me, challenges me, opens new doors … Whatever has hit me over the head basically. It may be new or old or just dug up again. With all this time we have behind doors I hope this provides a welcome connection and escape…”

For radio head’s who aren’t too keen on Thom Yorke or his music taste, worry not, the radio platform boasts an impressive line-up of guest performances. This includes; Angel Olsen, JPEGMAFIA  and Jarvis Cocker, to name a few.

Yorke’s station is the perfect go-to during these eerie, desolate times of self-isolation. This isn’t the first news of Radiohead lifting spirits during the coronavirus pandemic. The band have been releasing rare archival footage from gigs-gone-by on their YouTube channel.
