Over the past three years, Zeppelin Hamilton and Clay Allen quietly worked on their music while the world went through its share of chaos.

The result? An album that navigated a pandemic, time zones, and personal challenges.

The album’s origin traces back to Hamilton’s time in Europe, where he soaked in diverse artists and sounds during his travels.

From catching acts like Kikagaku Moyo in a London warehouse to Lil Simz at Berghain, the experiences influenced their creative direction.

Hamilton shares, “Clay and I eventually met up in Berlin to discuss the album and the sound we envisioned.”

Eager to get creative, Hamilton faced a setback as he broke his hand upon returning to Australia, followed by lockdowns.

Dealing with both injury and isolation, he adapted by recording one-handed on a MIDI keyboard.

With over 20 demos in hand, they teamed up with Phan Sjarif (known for Middle Kids and Bird Of Tokyo) to co-produce the record in their garage and Parliament Studios.

Friends like ARIA-nominated composer Sinj Clarke and bassist Nick Savvas joined in the studio.

Allen reflects on the record, saying, “This feels like stepping into a different state of mind, both musically and personally. After working through a challenging yet cathartic creative process during an uneasy time, it feels like we’re moving into new territory.”
