WTYD x FUN Presents:

We Talk You Die are a pretty cool* music blog. How can you tell? Well first off, their website has a dot tv at the end, which is always a good sign. They also feature some pretty great artists when they decide not to be on hiatus. Tonight, this group of Melbourne tastemakers are teaming up with online tailor extraordinaires Fun Apparel to bring you a the first in a long line of planned ~fun~ nights at The Workers Club.

WTYD

Focusing on the local electronic scene, the two have managed to rein in the beat defying ambience of Electric Sea Spider to headline the revelry. Described as an elder of the scene, ESS is a modern day MPC renaissance man, wrangling a multitude of experimental influences to create something truly unique. Lower down the order we got us some Blossoms and some mgkrp, both artists that WTYD have premiered over the years. The former makes haunting, post-minimalist tracks, while the former electronically cuts, chops and slices his way through a past chequered with jazz, oldschool hip hop and funk.

Finally, we’ve got Daixie and Felicity Yang. Yang’s soundcloud only productions caught our attention quite recently – stay tuned for a write up on monday – but follow this link to get a quick taste of things to come. Daixie (Alex Xie) rounds out the lower end of not only this epic bill but also on the soundscape – some serious bass sounds coming out of this Melbourne based producer.

For as little as $5.00, a chance to win some sweet Fun Apparel gear and the opportunity to be part of something pretty dang cool, you’d have to be a pretty silly sausage to miss out on this one. Doors to Fitzroy’s Workers Club open at 8pm, with music till late late late.
