YouTuber is on a quest to nail Guitar World’s Top 100 solos

What a dude. Kelly Dean Allen has taken on the mission of all missions for guitarists – nailing Guitar World’s top 100 solos of all time.

Kelly Dean Allen is a man on a mission. He’s dared to go where others fear to tread, by climbing the Mount Everest of guitar-based challenges. He’s out to demolish Guitar World’s top 100 guitar solos of all time.

Apparently, Dean endured a 25-year hiatus from playing guitar, but his quest to get to the number one solo on the list proves that it’s never too late to pick up the axe.

So far, he’s worked his way down to number 43 on the list (ZZ Top’s Sharp Dressed Man FYI), which is already an outstanding feat.

To help him on his way, Dean has leaned on couple of classics – a Fender Strat (the solo for Alive by Pearl Jam for example) a Tele (Sympathy for the Devil – a Keith Richards classic) and a Les Paul (for the solo on Shock Me by Kiss).

But there’s also a few more shredding friendly options from Jackson and Ibanez, which he uses to take on Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Soundgarden and more.
