Salarymen performs ‘Young Guns’ Live From Happy

PRESENTED BY

Indie rock band Salarymen recently visited the Live from Happy studios with their single Young Guns. Released at the end of August, this was the second single from their Sophomore EP — coming out October 20th.

The single Young Guns is a catchy tune with a strong message. It’s an impassioned look at the ongoing gun violence crisis in America, spurred by the most recent shooting at Robb Elementary School in Texas.

Young Guns was Mixed and Recorded by Tim McArtney, Owen Penglis and Radi Safi.

This Live from Happy session was made possible by the generous support of ATEN who provide innovative solutions for making better connections. In this session Happy utilised the indispensable ATEN UH3237 USB-C Docking Station.

Coming in as a duo, Renee and Thom spent the afternoon at the Happy Studios as they also featured in one of our Engineering the Sound videos testing out a microphone. After that, they jumped straight into a very cool version of their single Young Guns.

Their forthcoming EP is yet another self-recorded and self-produced body of work seeing them record drums in sharehouses, guitars in garages and vocals wherever they feel inspired.

Here’s what Salarymen had to say about Young Guns before taking to the stage:

“We wrote this one after the Texas school shooting earlier this year. It’s about kids who go to school and fear they won’t come home. Which is absolute madness.

Nevertheless, we’ve had so much fun here today and hope you enjoy this!”
