Anieszka performs ‘Dysfunctional Thoughts’ Live From Happy

PRESENTED BY

Australian/Mauritian artist Anieszka (an-yes-ka) recently visited the Live from Happy studios with her single Dysfunctional Thoughts.

It’s a head-nodding RnB soul jam about having anxiety whilst being in a relationship — not about the relationship, about how to navigate those feelings while considering another person. She gave us a special stripped-back version with James Baldwin on electric guitar.

Dysfunctional Thoughts was Mixed and Recorded by Tim McArtney, Owen Penglis and Radi Safi.

This Live from Happy session was made possible by the generous support of ATEN and Mojave. ATEN provide innovative solutions for making better connections and Mojave make world class microphones that are affordable without compromise . In this session Happy utilised the indispensable ATEN UH3237 USB-C Docking Station and the Mojave MA-D Dynamic Handheld Microphone.

Produced by James, and Riley Hilder, Dysfunctional Thoughts was recorded at James’ home studio earlier this year in a lightning-fast session. It seriously only took them 2 days to get the track down.

Dysfunctional Thoughts is a follow-up single to her Human EP, which was released in June this year. Anieszka is just about to head home to Mauritius for a few months to see family and write more music — she’ll be fusing her writing with some traditional Mauritian Sega elements.

Here’s what Anieszka had to say about Dysfunctional Thoughts before taking the stage:

Dysfunctional Thoughts is about having anxiety and being in a relationship and being able to tell your partner about what is happening if you’re struggling with something. I wanted to normalise people with anxiety being able to speak up about it.”
