Musician Mo’Ju and their band recently visited our studio Noise Machines for a special Live From Happy performance in association with Sydney World Pride 2023 with their single ‘Change Has To Come‘.

It’s the first single from their upcoming album ‘Oro Plata Mata’ that’s set for release on Friday March 24th — Pre order that here. ‘Change Has To Come‘ is a call to arms for people to hop off your screens and connect with community.

Change Has To Come was Mixed and Recorded by Tim McArtney, Owen Penglis and Radi Safi.

This Live from Happy session was made possible by the generous support of Avid. Avid is a technology and multimedia company who make the industry famous Pro Tools Software, Sibelius and Audio Interfaces. In this session Happy utilised Pro Tools and Avid Carbon Pre Audio Interfaces.

Coming through with a killer band of musicians, friends, producers, and long time collaborators we were treated to an epic performance of ‘Change Has To Come‘. With Myka Wallace on Drums, Henry Jenkins on Bass Guitar, Lewis Coleman on Keys and Samples, and Mo’Ju on vocals they locked into the deep groove of the track giving us one of our most exciting Live from Happy sessions to date.

Fresh from performing with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House for Sydney World Pride, Mo’Ju still has a few shows you can catch: Saturday March 11th at Golden Plains (VIC), Friday March 17th at Hamer Hall, Melbourne (VIC) with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Saturday April 15th at Boorloo Heritage Festival in Perth, (WA).

Here’s what Mo’Ju had to say about ‘Change Has To Come‘ before taking the stage:

“It’s the first single off my latest album, and it’s kind of a call to arms, to hop of the screens and connect with community. That’s how I was feeling at the time that I wrote it.

But it’s meant to feel like a positive, uplifting moment.”
