Singer/Songwriter/Producer/Witch WCB recently visited our studio Noise Machines for a special Live From Happy performance in association with Sydney World Pride 2023 with his song ‘FWL (Fairweather Lover)’.
It’s a dreamy, ethereal track with both WCB’s shimmering vocals and beautiful production that’s about relationships with people who only like you when you are malleable or ‘perfect’ — when they only like a portion of you, not the whole you.
FWL (Fairweather Lover) was Mixed and Recorded by Tim McArtney, Owen Penglis and Radi Safi.
This Live from Happy session was made possible by the generous support of 13cabs. 13cabs are Australia’s largest team of Professional Drivers, ready whenever you are with a price guarantee and no surge pricing, ever!
Released in early February, FWL (Fairweather Lover) was written and produced by WCB himself with the idea of escapism. His work sparse, but textual with lots of layered vocals and bass heavy elements. WCB is playing at Low 302 in Surry Hills (Tonight!) Friday the 24th of February.
Here’s what WCB had to say about FWL (Fairweather Lover) before taking the stage:
“Fairweather Lover is about those relationships that you have with people that only like you when you are malleable, paliable or perfect. And for me, it’s 0.5% of the time — I’m that kind of person.
I got talking with friends about their experiences with relationships and who they’ve been with and they explained they had had similar experiences with someone liking the idea of you, but not the whole you.”
