If you’ve been pulling teeth over the fact that Arctic Monkeys haven’t released an album in four years, tonight you’ll sleep happy.
The British superstars have been all quiet since their 2013 effort, the sultry AM which took the world by the haunches with hits like Do I Wanna Know? and Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High? But by all accounts, it looks like they’re on track for a newbie come 2018.
How long have you been hanging out for a new slice of Arctic Monkeys? Nick O’Malley has casually dropped the news that the Sheffield boys are well into their next LP.
Speaking to motorcycle mag For The Ride, bassist Nick O’Malley mentioned that the interview was occurring the day before his band holed up to record their sixth at a secret location. Plus the album would be out next year, and “if it isn’t, we’ve got problems”.
Can’t say I expected to hear news about the new Arctic Monkeys album after Malley spent a day burning rubber on Silverstone circuit. But I’m not complaining.
I’m eagerly awaiting whatever Alex and the guys have up their sleeves, come 2018.
