Arctic Monkeys debuted their brand new song, I Ain’t Quite Where I Think I Am at the Zurich Openair festival in Switzerland.
Arctic Monkeys delighted fans in Zurich with the surprise debut of their new song, I Ain’t Quite Where I Think I Am. Fans of the Sheffield four-piece took to Twitter in a major wave of exultation over their first taste of the band’s upcoming seventh studio album.
The yet-to-be-titled seventh album is one of the most anticipated albums of 2022. In a recent chat with the BBC, Arctic Monkeys drummer, Matt Helders shared that the follow-up to their 2018 LP, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino would be out in 2022, and revealed that the band had been recording the new material in Suffolk.
When asked if the new album was “ready to go,” the Arctic Monkeys drummer replied, “yeah, pretty much, yeah. It was a bit disjointed how we had to do it, and there are bits to finish off, but yeah, it’s all in the works. I think by the time we get everything together it’ll be next year. Hopefully we can get out and tour next summer.”
After a long wait between albums and shows, Australian fans are gearing up to welcome in the New Year, with the Arctic Monkeys set to headline the Falls Festival. While we wait, check out the Arctic Monkeys setlist from Zurich Openair, and watch the new song below.
