Donny Benét is a Sydney based solo artist whose anachronistic satirical sound is embedded in post-disco and 80s funk. Benét first played shows as an accordionist and synth player in Italian bands around Sydney until in the mid-2000s, taught by his father Antonio Giacomelli Benét. In 2010 he played in Jack Ladder's band The Dreamlanders and signed to Rice is Nice is 2011.
Benét has released three studio albums via Rice Is Nice: Don't Hold Back (2011), Electric Love (2012), Weekend at Donny's (2014). His most recent album, The Don (2018) was issued via Remote Control Records.
