Fierce, all-femme four piece VOIID love it when you break the rules

VOIID are no princesses when it comes to garage punk, whipping up hellish tunes that will make your skin crawl and hair stand on end. If that’s your thing.

Made up of Anji Greenwood (Vocals), Kate McGuire (Lead Guitar), Antonia Hickey (Bass) and Jasmine Cannon (Drums), these loudmouthed ladies are here to make a statement with their rock tunes, the product of an initial wine-fulled haze.

Need some relief from this rule-driven society, or to blow off some steam? VOIID are the voice of femmes everywhere, a soundtrack to skating, crying, kissing, or all of the above.

VOIID was born in the bedrooms of these talented 20 somethings, who had every intention of pissing off the neighbours with their rock racket and no fucks given attitude.

With the recent release of debut EP Pussy Orientated in December 2017, VOIID are an all female reincarnation of a 90s punk, asserting themselves through brutally honest vocals, guitar-driven choruses and fierce drum-bashing.

It’s led to no shortage of sick gigs, and with a summer tour including Thrashville heavy music festival on the cards, they’re not ready to stop for gas just yet.

From having no food in the house to waking up in a hungover haze, VOIID have turned their not-so-favourite past-times into hard-hitting tunes, and they’re catchy as hell.

Having supported the likes of Drunk Mums, Skegss, The Gooch Palms, Dumb Punts and Bleeding Knees Club, it’s not hard to predict the type of rowdy punters VOIID would attract at a live show. We can only recommend wearing some protective, preferably quick-dry clothing.

Though the name may imply their music will suck you into a black hole of anguish, anthemic tracks Cheap Wine and Galaxy will make you want to get up and shake your hair around. They’re the perfect soundtrack to get drunk to, make a mess to or just to whack on whenever you need a pick-me-up.

You’ll want to keep an eye out for these violent vixens, who will be jumping back in the studio throughout 2018 to record a brand new LP set for release this year.
