The annual Melbourne Music Week has announced a massive opening night lineup for the 2015 installation of the celebration, plus some details about the venues.
A lineup of Melbourne talent will kick things off at the Former Royal Women’s Hospital on Swanston Street on Friday the 13th of November including Gypsy and The Cat, Harpoons and Dorsal Fins.
The local artists will join collossal legends the Brian Jonestown Massacre and sound-art genius Robert Henke of Monolake on the festival bill which will span one week, kicking off on Friday the 13th and finishing up on Friday the 20th of November.
The Former Royal Women’s Hospital will be transformed into a vibrant canvas during the week, says Chair of Marketing Councillor Beverley Pinder-Mortime. “From Kubik, to Where? House at the Argus Building; The Residence dome in Birrurung Marr and MMW at QVM last year, the city really does become the stage for Melbourne Music Week,” she says.
The full lineup is set to drop on Wednesday the 7th of October!
