Needle In The Hay Spotlight: Boy $cout Gatsby

PRESENTED BY

Boy $cout Gatsby

Meet Boy $cout Gatsby, an unsigned talent who’s ready to drop into the same Australian hip hop wave The Kid Laroi is riding.

Boy $cout Gatsby is a newer name, but he’s one you’re probably going to be hearing a lot. Based in Sydney, he’s making some hyper-contemporary hip hop that’s well in line with the genre’s young leaders, from fellow Kamilaroi rapper The Kid Laroi to internal stars such as iann dior or Lil Mosely.

His initial burst of success came through Soundcloud and Youtube, where his output is both frequent and of a top-tier quality. Tracks like the nu-occa DUNDEE! or in the woods showcased his style and range beautifully – a Boy $cout Gatsby song is concise, emotional, and lyrically rich.

The song Boy $cout Gatsby entered into Needle In The Hay is fresh off the press. The film clip for Let Me In features the fellas from popular local podcast Misfits, while the song itself features an appearance from Australian singer PRAX.

Let Me In has been a rousing success since its release in December, already clocked over 120,000 Spotify streams and over 130,000 Youtube views – most of which exploded in the single’s first week on the air.

It’s hardly a surprise, either. The tune is one of Gatsby’s finest – the verses chug along like an unstoppable force, the video is as good as it gets, and the chorus hits that same emotional chord that Boy $cout Gatsby seems to strum so easily.

The rapper has an EP due to come out late this January, so stay tuned for more from this budding talent. Until then, give Let Me In a spin above.

Keep up with Boy $cout Gatsby on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Spotify, and Youtube.
