New baby giraffe named Wilfred is “vital” for conservation

Whipsnade Zoo, located in a village near Dunstable in Bedfordshire, England, has released footage of the latest addition to their family – a baby giraffe named Wilfred, born to parents Luna and Bashu on Friday, November 11.

Standing proud at six feet tall, Wilfred has been described as a “vital addition to the international conservation breeding programme for reticulated giraffes,” by zoo keepers and conservationists. Check out some cute footage of the baby giraffe via Instagram and YouTube below.
