10 days of Rage: Australia’s fave music program is throwing a birthday party and you’re invited!

Hip hip hooray, Happy Birthday Rage! The ABC program is turning 30 and to celebrate they’re going all out with a 10 day party.

The music show veteran has become nothing less than a cultural icon and the longest-running Australian music TV program still in production.

ABC’s Rage is celebrating 30 years of scaring the shit out of children with their creepy theme song and being the go-to program for all the raddest music hosted by eminent guests.

Unsurprisingly, Rage have invited a range of guests to program their anniversary show, but this time, they’re including you. Curate and “submit your favourite playlist” to have the chance to be aired over their birthday weekend, 14-17 April.

As per their website, Rage cites some of their favourite guest as “Cyndi Lauper, Animal Collective, Blondie, Ray Manzarek, Danny Brown, Alice Cooper, Misfits, Gang of Four, Vampire Weekend, Grimes, Andre 3000, Trent Reznor, Steve Albini, Tim & Eric, Bret Easton Ellis, Malcolm McLaren, Beastie Boys, Devonté Hynes, Courtney Love, M.I.A., Public Enemy, Neil Gaiman, Metallica, Hot Chip, The Breeders, Phoenix, Tame Impala and Sonic Youth.”

The 10 day celebration will include a special one hour documentary of the show’s journey as well as Stories from the Couch, a recount of wacky moments involving their hundreds of guest performers, hosted by Kate Cebrano.

According to The Music, Rage’s iconic couch will be on public display and available for selfies with fans at the ABC Ultimo Centre until April 23.
