And the next MTV Unplugged performance is… Liam Gallagher

MTV Unplugged is returning with one of rock’s most iconic personalities, only this time without the band that made him famous. Liam Gallagher will play the gig as a solo artist without rival and brother Noel and his other former Oasis band members.

Funnily enough, Oasis performed ‘unplugged’ back in 1996 but Liam had to back out from vocal responsibilities due to a sore throat. Noel took his place and received much praise for his performance. Liam and Noel make more headlines these days for their public feud that has lasted since Oasis’ breakup in 2009.

Beloved British rocker Liam Gallagher will play MTV Unplugged’s next gig in Hull, perhaps an attempt to bother Noel’s acclaimed 1996 performance with Oasis.

To throw another spanner in the works, Gallagher will perform the gig in Hull, a city he famously called “a shithole” during his Oasis days. For those angry ‘Hullians’ who have held onto those comments, “don’t look back in anger.” Liam just says stuff.

Nevertheless, Gallagher is still to this day, one of, if not the most beloved figures in modern British music for his ‘zero fucks given’ attitude. Sure he has a lot to live up to with the likes of Nirvana and Pearl Jam setting the gig alight in past additions. But it’s sure to be a “biblical” evening.
