The Skelton Collective’s single All I Wanna Be is a much needed pick-me-up

Perth outfit The Skelton Collective are back with a new single All I Wanna Be and it’s uplifting, bubbly and fun as ever.

With an alt-pop style, the quartet have translated their appreciation for all great things in life into their music, bringing it all back to simple feeling of happiness.

Perth four-piece The Skelton Collective’s latest single All I Wanna Be is the pick-me-up song we need in our lives right now.

With a main chorus line of “All I wanna be when I grow up is happy”, the song is joyful and up-tempo, with syncopated piano chords, an infectious drum line, plus Jess Skelton’s smooth and jazzy vocals.

Speaking about the song, the band shared:

“Choosing Happy is a mantra that breathes life into the Collective’s sound, and ‘All I Wanna Be’ invites everyone to join the party!”

The band is a family affair that began back in 2017 and is made up of lead singer and saxophonist Jess Skelton, keyboardist Craig Skelton, bassist Deborah Skelton and drummer Daniel Skelton.

All I Wanna Be is the second single off their 2018 EP Choosing Happy and was mostly self-recorded and produced. The band recorded the EP at Hammerspace Recording Studios in Perth and recruited engineer Troy Nababan to record the drums and mix, whilst the mastering was done by Simon Struthers at Forensic Audio.

“This EP is all about choosing happy, about taking control of your own attitude and approach to life and love as a conscious choice.”
