In 1986, Talking Heads frontman David Byrne directed a feature film titled True Stories, and this November, that film will be getting re-released through Criterion.
The Blu-ray version of the new release will feature a CD of the film’s complete soundtrack. This will be the first ever release of the full soundtrack.
Previously, Talking Heads have released 12 songs from the soundtrack, though this release is set to feature 23.
“In True Stories, Byrne uses his songs to stitch together pop iconography, voodoo rituals, and a singular variety show—all in the service of uncovering the rich mysteries that lurk under the surface of everyday experience,” Criterion say of the film.
Byrne also helped supervise the film’s restored 4K digital transfer as well as the new surround sound audio master.
