EarthQuaker Devices Unleashes Vibrant Limited Edition Disaster Transport Delay

EarthQuaker Devices has brought back its iconic Disaster Transport delay pedal in a limited-edition run, and it’s looking better than ever.

The OG Disaster Transport, known for its modulation-loaded capabilities, has undergone a major facelift with eye-catching artwork by Pieter “Parra” Janssen. The colorful new design is a departure from the pedal’s previous industrial aesthetic, giving it a fresh and vibrant look.

But it’s not just the appearance that’s been upgraded. EarthQuaker Devices has made significant improvements to the pedal’s functionality as well. The analog-voiced digital Parra Disaster Transport now delivers a more authentic analog delay sound, surpassing its predecessors. The pedal features Flexi-Switch technology, allowing players to engage the effect through either momentary or latch-style switching, offering greater control and versatility.

In terms of controls, the Parra Disaster Transport offers a streamlined layout. It includes five knobs for modulation and delay, as well as two toggle switches and a pair of footswitches. The modulation section provides control over speed and intensity, with the Mod Mode switch offering Bend or Stretch modes for a range of modulation effects. The delay section features standard Repeats and Time knobs, offering a delay range from 30ms to 600ms.

EarthQuaker Devices has partnered with Reverb for this exclusive release, and the Parra Disaster Transport is available for $249. However, it’s essential to note that this limited edition is restricted to one unit per customer, with only 500 pedals being produced. Once these units are sold out, the Disaster Transport will return to discontinued status.

In addition to the Parra edition, EarthQuaker Devices has also resurrected the OG Disaster Transport with expanded features in a Legacy Reissue version. This updated version boasts a lower noise floor, improved analog delay sound, and new Mod Speed and Mode switches. The Mod Speed toggle allows players to choose between slow, fast, or medium modulation rates, while the Mod Mode switch provides options for Bend or Stretch voicings.

Both the Parra Disaster Transport and the Legacy Reissue version are available now. The Parra edition, priced at £210 / $249, is limited to 500 units. The Legacy Reissue version, priced at £235 / $219, is a more widely available option, with 3,500 units being produced. Whether you’re a fan of vibrant artwork or seeking enhanced delay capabilities, EarthQuaker Devices’ Disaster Transport pedals offer something truly special for guitar players and pedal enthusiasts alike.
