Still not sure how to spend your weekend? Happy’s got it covered with our favourite gigs this weekend.

It’s pretty simple – after combing through gig after gig, we have accumulated a list of some personal favourites that are playing this weekend in Sydney. From death metal to bedroom pop to post-punk to electro, there’s a price-savvy gig here for everyone.

To celebrate one of the bassists (that’s right, there are two) birthday, L.A.R.M is giving EVERYONE  a gift; a lineup of some of the juiciest and fiery mixes of psych/garage/egg/grunge-punk in the Sydney music scene.

Joining them is O.M.R (Orson’s Martian Radio), D.B.A.T.L.S (Daughter Bat and the Lip Stings) and Airline (no acronym for these guys).

They’ll be playing at the Duke for the cost-friendly price of zero.

Which, if you ask me, is a BANGER of a deal for the deliciousness you’re getting.

Alex Lahey

When given the option to go to an Alex Lahey concert, The Answer Is Always Yes (it’s funny because that’s the name of the tour).

One of Australia’s favourite alt-rock Alex’s will be gracing the Crowbar stage to celebrate her latest album drop.

Joining her are the equally fun, feel-good alt-rockers Illuminati Hotties all the way from the US of A.

Graveyard Shift

Get on the vodka Red Bulls for this show, folks.

The deadly duo that is Cammy Cautious & the Wrestlers and Tombeau & the Idiots are playing together at the beloved Graveyard Shift at The Lansdowne.

From 10:30 this giant mix of punk, garage, and chaotic rock will be gracing the stage.

The energy coming off the stage should push you into pulling an all-nighter.

Saturday

In Good Hands sounds like what you listen to on your way to the beach, on a playlist wedged in between Ocean Alley and Mako Road.

The indie-surf-rock band will be playing at Vic on the Park, bringing their feel-good warm fuzzies to the Inner West.

Joining them are indie-rock up-and-comers Day Release, whose sound is comparable to diving headfirst into the ocean.

Have a beach day at night.

Auntie Leo & the Backstabbers

Ever wanted to see a band that combined the sounds of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, The Grogans, Crocodylus and Amyl & the Sniffers?

Allow me to introduce you to the 60/70s psychedelic surf rock, Spaghetti Western, punk rockers Auntie Leo & the Backstabbers who are in the midst of a tour to celebrate their latest single, Mongrel.

Joining them at the Duke will be the bluesy rocker’s Bones Atlas and psychedelic surfers Bones Graft.

Group Therapy is back in session!

Come and heal your soul with a stellar lineup that is hypnotic indie rockers Children Collide, the raunchy bluesy Wolf & Cub, fuzzy post-punk’s Second Idol plus DJ sets by Party Dozen and Chelsey Dagger.

The lineup is sure to send you into a meditative state, cleansing your mind, soul and body.

Come celebrate the end of winter with Sydney’s latest music event, ICEBREAKER.

With a lineup of over 20 artists, including names such as Death By Denim, Rum Jungle, Dulcie and The Moving Stills, it’s probably the best cure to the Sunday Scaries.
