Take a moment with the country upstart, Jackson Dean and grab a glimpse of the country charm that he is known for.

We caught up with singer-songwriter Jackson Dean on his debut trip down under.

The distance from his home turf was palpable, yet he made a pit stop at Happy Mag to engage in a candid chat about his highly anticipated headlining shows in Sydney and Melbourne, and his back to back performances at the Groundwater Festival.

Jackson Dean, an up-and-coming figure in country music, is gaining recognition for his authentically vintage and gritty songwriting style. He brings a dose of lyrical genius reminiscent of the roots of country music.

Following his impressive achievements in 2022, including the success of his debut album “Greenbroke” released via Big Machine Records, Jackson’s single “Don’t Come Lookin'” quickly rose to the top spot, solidifying his status as the youngest male solo country artist to achieve this with a debut.

Now, in 2023, we’re introduced to his latest work, ‘Fearless (the Echo)’.

Jackson Dean believes in the saying, ‘If it ain’t broke, why fix it?’ – he’s maintained a loyal team throughout his releases.

Case in point is his long standing musical partnership with his drummer, which began when Jackson was just 13 years old.

During our conversation, we explored his musical journey from the streets of Baltimore to the heart of Nashville, and his collaboration with the  ‘mad wizard,’ Luke Dick.

With an extensive tour that sees Jackson Dean on the road for the next 12 months, settle in and take a moment with the country upstart, and grab a glimpse of the country charm that he is quickly becoming known for.
