Touch Sensitive, aka Michael Di Francesco, chats about ‘Telephone Line,’ his latest musical creation with Your Smith

Touch Sensitive, the musical virtuoso also known as Michael Di Francesco, delves into a conversation about his latest creation, ‘Telephone Line.’

This pop-infused gem, featuring the enchanting vocals of Your Smith, marks his return to original releases since the drop of the Cold Cuts EP in late 2022.

Imprinting his unmistakable sound, Touch Sensitive employs  a deft skill of silky synths that weave seamlessly throughout the track.

Your Smith, the LA-based singer-songwriter known for collaborations with Rejjie Snow and Flight Facilities, contributes an irresistible vocal hook that captures the bittersweet anticipation of waiting for a lover’s call.

A fixture in the music scene for quite some time, Touch Sensitive’s journey has seen him transition from being an original founding member of Van She to becoming a powerhouse in the industry—a versatile producer, bass overlord, and DJ sought after by many.

The Cold Cuts EP, released last year, paid homage to his Italian heritage and love for house music, joy, and dancing. Crafted in Future Classic’s LA studio alongside label alumnus Chrome Sparks, the tight grooves of Cold Cuts garnered praise from tastemakers all over.

Having recently wrapped up a series of tour dates across America alongside Roosevelt in San Francisco and Los Angeles, Touch Sensitive returns home for shows in Melbourne and Adelaide. Additionally, he’s a key member of The Black Dog Band, featuring Australian musical luminaries Kirin J Callinan and Tim Commandeur, set to grace the stage alongside Genesis Owusu this week.

‘Telephone Line’ is yet another defining chapter in Touch Sensitive’s journey, showcasing his ongoing knack for innovation and bringing a total mood to the music scene.
