Lana Del Rey, Courtney Love, Elvis Costello and more pay tribute to Leonard Cohen at memorial show

Yesterday, November 7th, marked one year since we lost Leonard Cohen.

In honour of his memory, a huge celebration took place the Belle Centre in Montreal on Monday night. A slew of stars congregated to pay tribute, including Sting, Elvis Costello, Lana Del Ray, Feist, and heaps more.

Watch Lana Del Rey, Courtney Love, Elvis Costello and more pay tribute to Leonard Cohen at memorial show, one year since his death.

To kick off the night, Sting sang Cohen’s Dance Me to the End of Love, and was followed by Feist performing Hey, That’s No Way to Say Goodbye.

From there Patrick Watson sang Who by Fire and Elvis Costello did The Future and Bird on a Wire, k.d. lang performed her beloved cover of Hallelujah, and Courtney Love did Everybody Knows.

Cohen’s son, Adam, performed a few duets, including So Long, Maryanne with The Webb Sisters, and Chelsea Hotel No. 2 with Lana Del Rey. There was also a video tribute that included Willie Nelson, Chris Martin, Peter Gabriel and Celine Dion.

Seth Rogen also did a reading of Cohen’s lyrics from Field Commander Cohen. “As a Canadian Jewish person, there is no greater honour than reading a Leonard Cohen poem in the middle of a hockey arena,” he joked beforehand.
