Lizard Brain Trust’s ‘Dumb Ghost’ is a scrappy, off-kilter indie rock cut, pulling from Guided By Voices, Sebadoh and a deep well of Midwestern weirdness.
Bug-Eyes – ‘Teflon’
Another debut, but this time straight from experimental bushlands of New South Wales’ Central Coast. Right after a premonition of isolated guitars, drums crash into your ears, leading into a twisted world of imaginative lyricism and foreboding instrumentation.
gemini rose – ‘too many roses’
A debut of indie folk and chill pop that wraps a listener in a warm blanket of bittersweet vocals and melancholic guitars. Feeling of love and loss will grip your entire body as Gemini Rose focuses on the little parts, like lips, fingertips and hips.
Weird Roach, EM/L – ‘Cold Dirt’
This track from Weird Roach’s debut LP, Hello Are You There?, is an almost ambient and spacious stream of intimate vocals. Halfway through, the track builds into a chandelier of violins and electronic percussion.
Hati Hari – ‘Martyr’
An electronic pop anthem that shoots into the stratosphere with vocals that effortlessly float over an infectiously nostalgic production. You’ll be flying on a cloud of futuristic feel good dots and loops, synths and echoing autotune.
Jwool – ‘Never’
‘Never’ is a short and sweet dark indie track with laid-back emo adjacent vocals and Alex G-like guitar work. The drums take a day off in this one, leaving you to quietly reflect alongside Jwool.
dee maria – ‘Blue’
A chill indie tune that is the perfect companion piece to any sad girl stuck in their bedroom after falling to the woes of love. Lead by acoustics and soft vocals, it’s a tear jerker that will leave you ‘Blue’.
ALEKS MATIC – ‘SNOW’
This EDM pop hybrid feels like a love letter to the dance music that used to pump through the clubs and car speakers of the late 00s and 10s. It’s a jumpy, fun and seductive track that is capable of getting anyone in a trancey dancey haze.
