Fresh off the back of announcing huge tours in Australia and New Zealand, an inclusion on the bill for Sydney Festival and universal acclaim for their new record Skeleton Tree, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds have just dropped their breathtaking video for Magneto.
Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds drop their haunting new video for Magneto, a snippet taken from the recent documentary, One More Time With Feeling.
The clip is a snippet from One More Time With Feeling, the documentary accompanying Skeleton Tree that explores its recording process and the tragic death of Cave’s son, Arthur.
The film’s director, Andrew Dominik, said that the idea for making the documentary came about after Cave “realised he was going to have to promote the record” following the death of his son, as reported by The Guardian.
“Arthur had died halfway through making it. And the idea of [promoting] it made him feel sick, because he was going to have to discuss the context of the record with a whole bunch of journalists,” said Dominik. “That prospect was very alarming to him. His instinct in making the film was one of self-preservation: it was a way to talk about what happened, but there was a certain safety in doing it with someone he knew.”
Like the other videos for tracks on Skeleton Tree, the clip for Magneto is a haunting live studio performance from the doco. Watch below:
