Park Rd serve up a refreshing glass of surf-rock on their new single ‘Golden’

West Auckland gems Park Rd have knocked it out of the park once again. Potentially their strongest release to date, Golden is a must-have on your summer playlist.

Park Rd are back with a fresh and groovy new single, Golden.

Packed with mouth-watering riffs and a chorus that could bring the sun out on a cloudy day, Golden certainly lives up to its name.

From start to finish, Park Rd’s latest single is an ice-cold glass of water on a sweltering summer’s day. Bursting with sun-soaked textures, the track is a testament to the bright surf rock that we’ve come to know from the band, but turned up a little. Sweltering and overflowing with nostalgia, the single’s air-tight rhythms and considered choruses are a testament to the group’s sonic versatility.

Their songs have always lived in summer nostalgia, those days that feel never-ending and utterly free. Golden just dials everything up to 11; chorus, riffs, lyricism, and energy. Layered on top of a groove-laden rhythm section and introspective lyricism, the band’s watery riffs crash through to add the final piece to the puzzle. It’s so punchy that you feel like you’re literally getting slapped across the face with sonic greatness. At its core, however, Golden is a tribute to the band’s connection and the journey that their music has taken them on.

“We put a lot of love into our songs and we have a lot of fun writing them as a band, but the highlight for me is the being able to play shows and feel everyone there coming together and having a blast with something we created,” lead guitarist Angus Hampton-Carr explains.

With a lot of exciting things in the works, post-lockdown, its safe to say that we’ll be seeing a lot more of Park Rd soon.
