Sydney rockers Avalanche have debuted their double EP Sent From Hell, a release that stays true to the rock n’ roll genre, with rolling drums, heavy electric guitars and infectious melodies. It will get anyone head-banging in no time.
With gutsy themes of sex, sin, and hell, the band have found their own unique sound after just one year of playing together. Not afraid of taking artistic risks, the instrumentation is tight, cohesive and an all-round fun listen.
Avalanche’s debut EP Sent From Hell is a rock n’ roll masterpiece, with clear direction, tight instrumentation and songs that are sure to become classics.
Made up of Steve Campbell on vocals and bass, Ryan Roma on drums, and Veronica Taleski on guitars, Avalanche are relatively new to the Sydney music scene. They released their first two singles Head First In Hell and Balls Deep last year, both featured charming nods to AC/DC and Led Zeppelin.
The EP is a mixture between four studio recordings and four multi-track live recordings. All the songs relate to the theme of hell and explore classic rock n’ rock in a contemporary setting. The opening track Sold My Soul is a song that deals with negotiating with the devil and the crossroads we face whilst tracks such as Get Back (To Fuckwit City) flaunts honest lyricism, getting straight to the point.
These are still relatively early days for Avalanche, but judging by the quality of this new EP, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes. In the meantime, do yourself a favour and listen to the new EP above.
