PREMIERE: Kid Lab Rat drops his woozy new video for God Save The Rest Of Us

It was last month, with the release of his debut full-length album Out Of The Laboratory, that we were first introduced to the woozy and exploratory sounds of Kid Lab Rat (aka Dylan James). The Melbourne-based artist crafts music that feels simultaneously authentic and adventurous—it’s rooted in hip-hop, but is never limited by the one genre.

Now, he has dropped a new music video for one of the album’s stand-out tracks, God Save The Rest Of Us, and with it, James further develops his immersive audio/visual universe. It should go without saying that we’re stoked to be premiering it for you today.

Kid Lab Rat’s woozy, hyper-coloured new video for God Save The Rest Of Us is just as disorientating as the song it accompanies.

Filmed by Lpaka from 895 Records on a road trip to Sydney, the new video clip is as equally disorientating as the track it accompanies. The clip features Kid Lab Rat and a group of mates on the road and at various locations around Sydney—once you dive into the video, you’ll quickly find yourself hypnotised by the dreamy, hyper-coloured visuals.

The track itself is a showcase of James’ textured production and emotive vocal delivery. With dark soundscapes and gritty vocal hooks, God Save The Rest Of Us is completely mesmerising.
