GOLD, the newest track from Sydney four-piece The Buoys, is a shimmering slice of garage punk goodness that’ll get you feeling all warm and fuzzy.

Sydney femme four-piece The Buoys have been bringing their distinctive sound of unrelenting fuzzy guitar and relatable lyrics around Australia since the release of their debut EP Soft Boy in 2017. The quartet has released a number of popular singles that have set them apart as ones to watch in the Australian indie rock scene, becoming favourites of the airwaves, played regularly on both FBi Radio and Triple J.

Recorded at Golden Retriever Studios with Antonia Gauci, GOLD is a catchy and dynamic track that explores “the transformation of a raw and at times blinding love.” The track glimmers with the excitement of all-consuming love, sparkling with the golden colours of optimism as singer-songwriter Zoe Catterall sings “baby when I’m with you it’s all I want.”

Zoe’s equally sweet and savoury vocals layered with driving guitars and thrashing drums creates a delightfully punchy and memorable track that “carries you to that place of complete awe and admiration.” It’s a colourful and euphoric morsel of fuzzed out garage punk brilliance.

Coming off the back of BAD FRIDAY 2019 (DMA’s, JUNGLE, Tropical Fuck Storm) and shows with The Garden, Shannon and the Clams, DZ Deathrays, Moaning Lisa, Peter Bibby and Pist Idiots; The Buoys will be touring the East Coast of Australia in August, to celebrate the release of GOLD.
