Stereolab announce first Australian shows in over a decade

English ‘avant-pop’ outfit Stereolab are set to make their long-awaited return to Australian shores in March next year.

The band have announced a series of headline shows, and are also set to take to the stage for Golden Plains festival (alongside the likes of Hot Chip and the Pixies, and Melbourne’s Twilight Zoo series.

Widely considered trailblazers in 90’s indie, the band’s unique sound incorporates elements of psychedelia, pop, indie rock and electronica, and lyrics in both English and French.

Stereolab split after nineteen years in 2009 but announced their reunion in February. A series of remastered editions of their studio albums were announced in addition to a world tour, however there have no been no announcements of any upcoming new material to date.
