Twin Beasts

Twin Beasts, formerly The Toot Toot Toots, formerly Mouse Rat, formerly Scarecrow Boat, have been making a name (or recently changed name) for themselves. The Melbourne based five-piece have played a few festivals around Australia (such as Victoria’s Meredith Music Festival, White Night Festival, and WA’s Rock It Festival) and have paved their grassroots way from regional country land. They’re rocky, bluesy and at times they like to throw in a bit of gospel style undertones.

Danny Eucalyptus has some unique pipes. This guy’s got a hell of a lot of good bluesy grit in his voice, especially demonstrated in tracks like Fools Gold, which is one of my favs. It’s a great sound mix of country-blues and gospel choir chants, alongside some real nice raw tones that are quite compelling.

Twin Beats’ album Badlove has just been released after being produced by Burke Reid (who’s worked with the likes of Oh Mercy and The Drones and has been certified officially as the-shit, after being ARIA nominated). Take a gander and get hear their Australiana tunes, full of passion, shouting, guitars and gospel happy claps (bonus IceJJFish dance moves from Danny Eucalyptus).
