The Sir Elton John farewell tour has been sweeping across Australia, and while so far it has been a massive success, his second show in Perth took an unexpected turn.
Fans were left shocked after Sir Elton John leapt to the defence of a woman who was being ejected by security from his Perth show last night.
When security began to escort the woman from the venue, Sir Elton noticed and was quick to anger, hurling abuse at the two men who were kicking the woman out.
“Hey, you two security guards with the girl. Fuck off. Let her up here immediately. Come on you cunts. Morons. Both of you morons. You don’t treat girls like that. Leave her alone you turds.”
While we have heard every dirty word under the sun come out the mouths of our favourite rock stars, such naughty language from Sir Elton John came at quite the shock, creating a mixed response among the audience.
Why the woman was actually ejected from the venue is unclear, but a number of recounts from various audience members have come out, including Today Perth presenter Louise Momber who stated:
“He was so angry. He said he can’t stand violence against women and had to say something. He sang the next song and then immediately apologised for his rant – but said it’s something he’s really passionate about. It was certainly a side of Sir Elton I’d never seen before. One of the biggest music stars in the world – and he took on Perth security guards.”
A spokeswoman for VenuesWest did confirm that a female patron was removed during the show with the approval of Sir Elton’s personal security representative.
“Under the circumstances, the security team acted appropriately and we (VenuesWest and security) worked together with Elton’s team to ensure that the event was safe and successful for the artist and the patrons.”
