Have King Gizzard already got another album up their sleeve for 2018?

It’s still hard to believe that King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard came good with their promise that they’d release five records in 2017. Not only that, but that all five were top quality (then again, we’ve only ever gotten quality material from the band).

While they haven’t made any similarly wild claims for 2018, it appears that we may not have to wait too long for a new album.

King Gizzard new album

Have King Gizzard already got another album up their sleeve for 2018? A bio for the band on a festival website reveals that they just might.

According to Stereogum, a bio for the band on the website for Welsh music festival Green Man revealed that a new full-length album is coming in 2018. Here’s how it read:

“Building a discography to match the length of that name, KG&TLW released not one, not two, not three, not four, but FIVE new albums in 2017 alone, with another full-length already announced for later this year. And you know what? They’re all wonderful. Why? Because this is King Gizzard and they’re one of the very best psych rock bands on the planet. Come to the front and bow down.”

It looks like the bio has since been pulled down, however, it wouldn’t come as a surprise at all if it were true.

The first half of 2018 is pretty booked out for the band; currently, they are touring in Europe, with a massive North American leg booked for June. However, April and May seemed relatively quiet. Keep your eyes peeled for more details.
