The Getaway Plan are a Melbourne-based rock outfit who’ve built a loyal underground following since their 2004 inception.
The Metro Theatre has been patiently waiting for the virus to relax, right in time for an explosive reopening. Now, the time has come. The venue’s doors are unlocking this month for a non-stop lineup of Australia’s finest. Among them is The Getaway Plan.
Their upcoming show is going to be their first in two years. Naturally, we’re ecstatic with anticipation.
Every time these veteran musicians hit the stage, their loyal fan base is quick to respond. They were propelled to the front of the Australian rock scene immediately after high school, resulting in a whirlwind of touring and releasing.
This has resulted in multiple hiatuses for the band over their 17 years. However, every time they seem to be drawing to a close, they return stronger than before. Their international shows alongside the likes of Sleeping with Sirens and Pierce the Veil are testament to their enduring brand of songwriting.
Latest full-length Dark Horses found a #10 position in the ARIA charts as well as being one of their most critically acclaimed album to date. They’ll be playing songs off this record, older classics, and more at the upcoming Metro show, so be sure to snag a ticket before they’ve all disappeared.
