Nell Smith joined The Flaming Lips to cover a Nick Cave song on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
14-year-old musician, Nell Smith teamed up with The Flaming Lips and released an entire album of Nick Cave covers late last year.
The young Canadian legend had been a regular at The Flaming Lips’ gigs and was quite recognisable as she always sported a parrot costume. We don’t know why but that sure is one way to get noticed. And noticed, she was.
Nell first met Lips’ lead singer Wayne Coyne three years ago after he recognised her amazing outfit then sang a David Bowie cover to her as she sang back.
Last night, the band appeared alongside the stunned student on Colbert’s Late Show and it was a psychedelic epic full of steeze.
