Fontaines D.C. announce new album title ‘Dopamine Chamber’

D.C. no longer means Dublin City

Just last week, Fontaines D.C. surprised fans with two new foreboding tracks at their first major headline show of 2026.

During the takeover of the Baluarte de la Candelaria in Cádiz, Spain, the band introduced the world to ‘Marianne’ and ‘Six Shot Morning’.

But that wasn’t the only thing in store for fans this month.

In a thirty second video posted to socials, fans were met with a cryptic video of the blue globe turning into a close up of a blue eyeball, closed off by the words ‘Dopamine Chamber’ and ‘2026’.

The band also revealed their newest logo, a gothic insignia with the letters F.D.C. sporting a new shade of deep blue heavily prevalent in recent imagery.

The video is scored by the previously debuted track, ‘Six Shot Morning’, a dark and spacious synth-laden track that envelops the listener until crashing drums take the wheel and drive the track into an explosive culmination.

The other track debuted at their recent headline, ‘Marianne’, continues on in a similar vein with a similar industrial-leaning sonic palette, but offers more of a head bop with hypnotic electronic instrumentation.

Compared to their previous hit album, Romance, these newer tracks carry a greater sense of darkness with a further inclusion of heavy industrial bass and foreboding synth rhythms.

This darker sound carries more emotional weight than ever, since it has been unveiled just months after the passing of their beloved manager and “sixth member” Trevor Dietz.

Although the band has fallen onto hard times recently, the band still continue to keep the fire of Irish rock burning in his honour.

With the Dopamine Chamber coming later this year, the Irish outfit continue to maintain their momentum within the indie rock realm for those before, and those to come.
