Sydney trio DMA's formed in 2012 and are compromised of Tommy O'Dell, Matt Mason and Johnny Took. They gained popularity from their debut single Delete which went platinum in 2014 from their self-titled EP. The three-piece honed their craft and in 2016 released their first full-length album Hill's End with recalls the Brit-pop sounds of bands like Oasis and The Stone Roses.
In 2016 they covered Cher'sBelieve for Triple J's Like A Version and it scored 6th on the Triple J's Hottest 100, which is the highest ever ranking Like A Version. Furthermore, in 2018 the DMA's released their second studio album, For Now, achieving widespread critical acclaim and topping at 13 on the UK Album Charts.
The band unveiled their third record, The Glow, in July 2020. The sound of the album expanded on their Brit-pop roots with a broader pallet of electronic influences. DMA's are also a formidable live act, with an MTV Unplugged performance released in 2019 and a Live at Brixton performance appearing in March, 2021. They've even appeared on American talks shows such as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
The DMA's train shows no signs of slowing down. With a handful of critically acclaimed releases under their belts already, the sky's the limit for this Sydney trio.
