Bag Raiders drop a double A-Side, ‘Right Here / Saliba,’ and announce tour dates across Aus

The duo that brought us the cultural phenomenon that is ‘Shooting Stars’ has dropped a double A-side ‘Right Here / Saliba’

Bag Raiders are back on the scene with a fresh offering, a double A-Side titled ‘Right Here / Saliba,’ released through their own label, Broken Head Records. The Australian duo, known for their upbeat and dancefloor-ready electronic music, continues to carve their niche with these two new tracks.

‘Right Here’ maintains Bag Raiders’ tradition of delivering infectious, high-energy beats. Described by the duo as a “straight up and down house banger,” the track boasts a simple yet effective formula—a solid baseline and powerful drums. It’s a nod to old-school sample house, a genre they clearly hold in high regard.

On the other side of the coin, ‘Saliba’ takes a different route, incorporating a heavy 70s-style guitar riff. This track has been road-tested in Bag Raiders’ DJ sets over the past year, earning its stripes as a crowd-pleaser. The duo aimed for a rough and wonky sound, drawing inspiration from the vibe of an old tin shed. The deliberate use of suspense, like a brief cutout near the beginning of the track, adds an element of surprise that keeps the audience engaged.

This release follows their collaboration with Meg Mac on ‘Love Me Back,’ which garnered praise and support from various corners of the industry. To promote the new tracks, Bag Raiders are gearing up for a series of live shows and DJ sets across Indonesia and Australia in December and January, including a special performance at the Sydney Opera House for SYNTHONY.

Adding to their recent achievements, Bag Raiders collaborated with Troye Sivan on ‘Got Me Started,’ where Sivan sampled their 2009 hit ‘Shooting Stars.’ The track has seen significant success, accumulating millions of streams on Spotify and YouTube and even making its way onto Saturday Night Live.

Bag Raiders’ impact on the dance music scene is evident, especially considering the success of their 2010 self-titled debut album. The album debuted at #7 on the ARIA Charts, earning nominations for ‘Best Dance Release’ (ARIA), ‘Album of the Year’ (triple j), and ‘Dance Work of the Year’ (APRA). Their hit single ‘Shooting Stars’ has become a cultural phenomenon, amassing billions of streams and numerous Platinum and Gold certifications worldwide.
