We caught up with Wild Gloriosa at BIGSOUND.
We first crossed paths with Wild Gloriosa through Happy Mag’s 2025 Needle In The Hay competition, where Gloria Ragesh took out first place with ‘Lover Girl’.
A year on, she’s landed at BIGSOUND with a growing catalogue, a debut EP behind her and plenty more to say.

The Melbourne-based artist has been building the Wild Gloriosa project around neo-soul, R&B and jazz, with a sound that pulls from artists like Erykah Badu, Lianne La Havas and Bill Withers.
Her 2025 EP Growing Pains gave the project some real shape, while songs including ‘Lover Girl’, ‘LOUD’ and ‘All Wishes Come True’ have helped establish the sound.
Now she’s at BIGSOUND, which feels like a pretty fitting next step for an artist we’ve been keeping an eye on for a while.
We sat down with Wild Gloriosa in Brisbane to talk about the festival, songwriting, how the project has changed over the past year and what she wants to do next.
There’s a lot that can change in twelve months. In Gloria’s case, it’s been a good one.
Big love to Rambla @ Berwick House for putting us up, and to Kali Audio and Sprocket for helping us bring these BIGSOUND chats to life.
