We caught up with Kyla-Belle at BIGSOUND.
At 17, Kyla–Belle already has a few pretty serious milestones behind her.
The Gomeroi singer-songwriter from Moree has spent the past year building a catalogue around her alt-country sound, winning the 2025 triple j Unearthed High Indigenous Initiative and following it with more music, more shows and a growing audience.

Her latest single, ‘Let Me Burn’, is another step forward. Written from a very personal place, the song gives us another look at where Kyla–Belle is taking her music as she moves towards her debut EP Took A Turn.
She also recently performed at the National Indigenous Music Awards, adding another big moment to a year that has already moved pretty quickly.
We caught up with Kyla–Belle at BIGSOUND to talk about getting here, songwriting, the past year and what she’s hoping to build from here.
‘Let Me Burn’ is out now, with Took A Turn set to follow in October.
Big love to Rambla @ Berwick House for putting us up, and to Kali Audio and Sprocket for helping us bring these BIGSOUND chats to life.
