When Brunswick Music Festival were looking for their first 2019 artist, they knew they needed to turn heads. And that they have, revealing today that Snail Mail will coming to Brunswick in March 2019.
Stretching over two weeks each year (March 3-17 in 2019), Brunswick Music Festival is the foremost celebration of one of Melbourne’s most culturally eclectic neighbourhoods. With a program boasting music, art, food, drink, and everything else in between, it’s an event you’d be silly to miss.
With the announcement of Snail Mail’s appearance at Brunswick Music Festival, the event’s 2019 program is already looking bigger than ever before.
Since the release of her debut album Lush in June 2018, Snail Mail has been a name on the lips of every indie tastemaker in the world. Her 2018/2019 tour will see her take on iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden, The Fillmore, five nights at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall, and now Brunswick Music Festival.
And almost unbelievably, she’s just finished high school. Snail Mail is at the forefront of a supercharged, female-led modern indie scene and to say the sky’s the limit would be an understatement.
“This is a preview of the quality of the yet-to-be-announced complete bill”, says 2019 music programmer, Emily Ulman.
“I’m as excited to see the response to this first announcement, as I am to be unveiling the rest of the killer line-up. We will be celebrating the artists, musicians, and culture that define Brunswick and the people who play, live, work, and love here. Get ready to get amongst it with us in March!”
Stay tuned for the full program announcement in January!
Snail Mail comes to Estonian House, Melbourne, on Friday 8 March 2019. Grab your tickets here.
