Newcastle’s e4444e recently hit the Live at Enmore studios. Check out the performance of Rum Mountain, an ambient folk trip of epic proportions.
It seems that Newcastle’s e4444e (aka Romy Church) is in the midst of a meteoric rise. Blending elements of ambient electronic, indie rock and folk, the e4444e formula is unique and intoxicating.
Ahead of Happy’s next STFD show — featuring e4444e and Shining Bird — Church and his band arrived at the Live at Enmore studios. They delivered a sweeping epic of a tune, Rum Mountain.
The track kicked off with a sparse introduction of the detuned acoustic guitar and soaring tremolo lead lines. The song changed gears with the introduction of Church’s intimate and dynamic vocal delivery and a driving, metronomic groove from the drums.

Rum Mountain features on e4444e’s album Coldstream Road, which is out now via Spunk Records.
Catch e4444e and Shining Bird at STFD at the Marlborough Hotel on Friday, December 11. Get your tickets here.
