Eminem is celebrating his 50th birthday. Mere hours ago, the renowned rapper took to Instagram and re-posted a heartfelt tribute made by his label, Shady Records: “Till the day that I drop you’ll never say that I’m not killing ’em” Happy 50TH bday @eminem!!”
After experiencing a tumultuous childhood that was burdened by poverty in city of Detroit, Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers) became one of the most successful and iconic artists of our generation.
Following his emergence in the music scene with his ’96 debut LP, Infinite, Eminem returned in ’99 with his second album and major label debut, The Slim Shady LP. This groundbreaking record scored a Grammy for Best Rap Album in 2000.
That same year, he launched his third studio record, The Marshall Mathers LP, which further catapulted him into global stardom and became a multi-award-winning, diamond-platinum certified album.
