Fractures breaks the boundaries of electronica on new single ‘Addiction’

Fractures has unveiled his latest single Addiction; a slow-burning electronic anthem about the precariousness of love and the losses it often entails.

Fractures is no novice at crafting complex electronic tracks that retain broad-spectrum accessibility, and Addiction is the latest case in point.

For this multi-faceted artist, the task of creating a large sound space without overwhelming the listener is not exactly a new hobby. Addiction is yet another prime example of Fractures’ ability to compose what is essentially a pop song but with applaudable originality and edginess.

Much of the source of the song’s apparent size can be traced back to the many layers of warm, fuzzy synth textures that seem to carry on beyond the limits of the track itself. Fractures masterfully constructs an artificial atmosphere buzzing with electronic intensity yet in a way that simultaneously enwraps the listener and provides a soothing effect.

His signature high-flying falsetto vocals are the perfect addition to what is already a large and complex track, working well to bring the listener back to ground from the rocket ship that is the instrumentals. If his ability to compose such a multi-faceted masterpiece of electronica was a not enough, I’m sure no one could deny that Fractures’ lyrics glow as statements that are both relatable and original.

Addiction is now available for streaming and foreshadows the release of Fractures’ forthcoming EP, EP III,  set to drop on February 27 via FADER Label / Caroline Australia.
