The iconic Beastie Boys album Licensed To Ill officially achieves Diamond status

Ad-Rock, Mike D, and MCA better known as The Beastie Boys released the Rick Rubin produced Licensed To Ill on November 15th, 1986. An instant classic with tracks like (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party), Brass Monkey and No Sleep till Brooklyn, the record was the first rap album to top the Billboard charts.

Diamond certification (10 Million Copies sold) is no small feat and Licensed To Ill joins an elite group of only nine other hip-hop albums to achieve this accolade, including Notorious B.I.G.’s Life After Death, Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP, 2Pac’s All Eyez On Me, and Outkast’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.
