We had a chat with the super sweet and mega talented Caity Baser on her whirlwind tour across Australia & NZ

Settling in at Happy mag, after consuming no less than three coffees that morning, and shopping for a pair of UGG boots, Caity gave us the lowdown on her latest releases, ‘Why Can’t I Have Two’ and ‘DILF’.

At a mere 21 years old, Caity’s journey to stardom began with an impromptu song she shared online during lockdown. Now, she’s gracing stages with audiences in the thousands each week.

Her unfiltered Gen Z anthems like ‘Friendly Sex’ and ‘X&Y’ caught the ears of record labels worldwide.

On August 1st, she dropped ‘Why Can’t I Have Two (2468)’, playfully narrating her dilemma between two suitors and ultimately choosing both, all with a tongue-in-cheek nod to the idea of a menage-a-trois.

Yet, underneath the lightheartedness, the lyrics champion female empowerment and equality (‘If I were a guy, I’d do what I like, so why should girls have less, are you dumb?’).

In a creative twist, Caity opted not for one, but two singles with ‘DILF’. It’s a testament to her artistic process, one that thrives on simplicity and authenticity.

And as the excitement builds, keep an eye out for Caity Baser’s upcoming mixtape, perfectly timed to sync with her highly anticipated UK/European tour.

Cheers to tixel for making this interview possible.
