J. K. Rowling jumps to Posie Parker’s defence over violent protest

Author J. K. Rowling has taken to socials to condemn the trans-rights activists who hurled “smoke bombs” and “abuse” at an event over the weekend.

Posie Parker, aka Kellie Jay-Keen, well known for her early independent film work, has been making headlines as a women’s rights campaigner. She was set to headline a ‘Let Women Speak’ event in Brighton when a violent protest broke out.

The ‘Let Women Speak’ event was called off when the melee got out of control, prompting J. K. Rowling to speak out. The Harry Potter author took aim at the masked pro-trans rioters, defending the organiser, Kellie-Jay Keen’s right to speak.

Taking to Twitter, Rowling said: “I see the Be Kind brigade are once more hiding behind their black masks, throwing smoke bombs, screaming ‘scum’ at women speaking up for their sex-based rights and howling abuse at lesbians for not doing dick.”

Kellie-Jay Keen, founder of Standing For Women, was due to give a talk in Brighton, which was postponed due to demonstrations held on the day by pro-trans activists. Arrests were made as activists threw smoke bombs and hurled abuse during the heated demonstration. Keen is becoming well known for provoking pro-trans activists who take affront to her gender views, and has notched up quite a bit of rage from protestors.

J. K. Rowling, who is fast becoming notorious for her own ‘gender views,’ took to socials to slam the group for their “howling abuse” and “smoke bombs”.

Stars of The Harry Potter franchise have been quick to take a stand, distancing themselves from Rowling’s stance: “It is time that we all see gender as a spectrum instead of two sets of opposing ideals. We should stop defining each other by what we are not and start defining ourselves by who we are.” – Emma Watson
