Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme turned Detroit’s Ford Field into his personal rebellion stage, defiantly lighting up despite a looming $10,000 smoking fine.
Opening for Foo Fighters at the 65,000-capacity stadium, Homme railed against the venue’s strict smoke-free policy, complaining the band was forced to wander corridors searching for a designated puffing spot.

By set’s end, the rocker had clearly decided the price was worth paying.
“Don’t let these fuckin’ corporate assholes tell you what to do, do whatever the fuck you want,” he roared before igniting a cigarette onstage.
The frontman also slammed scalpers, overpriced drinks, and even “Flock cameras” in his expletive-laden tirade. The 11-song career-spanning set included hits like ‘No One Knows’ and ‘Little Sister,’ with Homme joking about “$45 beers” before ‘I Appear Missing.’
Whether the band actually faced the reported fine remains unconfirmed. The tour continues through September, with Mannequin Pussy also on the bill.
